As of today... July the 11th.

Hey bloggies,
As of right now there is an ice pack to the left of my face. Why you may ask? On Friday, I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed. It still hurts and I'm trying to relieve the pain... I need to eat regular food again. I miss it. My diet consists of mostly of yogurt, mac n cheese, bread, and food that can be put into small pieces

  • I hope everyone is having a great summer so far. My grandparents visited during the 4th of July and we had plenty of fun with them.

  • I started keeping a notebook of the things I have done this summer, but that's not working out too well. I haven't really written much in it.

  • Yesterday, we got early birthday presents because my dad is not going to be there during our birthdays. I got a camera!! Yay! I probably would have screamed or smiled bigger, but I can't because my wisdom teeth does not allow it. I promise I won't break it.

  • Also my sister got her blog yesterday....
You, yes you, should definitely check it out... right here

It is called: Forever Happiness

And if you know her, she would love it if you followed. Also no stalkers please.

  • I was thinking about using my real name here instead of starry_amazement. The reason why I used that in the first place was because I was paranoid. I thought I would have stalkers. I guess I just wanted to be extra extra safe, which really did nothing.... So tell me what you think.

talk to all y'all later alligators,

Hollaaa it's summer 2011!!

Yesterday (June 23, 2011) was my last day of school. Yippeeee! I am so glad summer is finally here. I don't go back to school until September and I have a feeling this summer is going to zzoooom by. I'm going to be doing a whole bunch of fun stuff this summer. I'm definitely going to try to post the stuff I do here on this blog.
Below is a list of some activities/ideas/things that I'd like to do this summer, or that I am doing....

  • READING - I have so many books I'd like to read right now.. I borrowed a bunch from the library and still have some at home I can read. I am booked with books! Also if you know any reeeeeaaally good books to read, let me know because I go through books like water.
  • 1 project- This is just a paper for my Honors History class next year. But you'd probably don't want to hear about that soo ahem.......
  • Cooking/Baking- Not too many recipes that require the oven though because it is too HOT!! Popsicles and smoothies and cold stuff=the solution. I planned on waking up early to make breakfast for the fam tomorrow, but I really don't want to wake up early. I'll have to do that some other time when I'm more prepared.
  • Swimming/Sprinklers/Water Balloons/ Water Guns/Water Fights- 'nuff said.
  • Sleepovers- There's a few friends that I'll hang out with in the neighborhood and from church :]
  • Adventures- hehehe I'll post more on this later.
  • Crafts crafts crafts- I am going to be so creative this summer, it's not even funny. At least that's what I've planned.
  • Exercise- I'd like to make better habits... hopefully.
  • More Jesus time- I'd adore spending more time just spending time with God.
  • many more ideas that I can't even piece together right now because it is 10:30 and I can't think very straight at night it's super insane and do you like my run-on sentence?
If you have any super sweet ideas, books, crafts, recipes, etc. that you'd like to share with me, please DO!! I'll love you forever. Can you feel my enthusiasm? This summer shall be grand.
I love you all!
starry_amazement

p.s. I forgot to mention.. tomorrow I'm going to be playing broomball at an ice rink with my youth group. check.YES!
p.s.s. do you like how my background is like a party? yeah? summer is a partaaaay! whoo hoo :D

Devotions and Jesus time

Hey! I just got home from school about an hour ago. Today was actually a good day, I mean some things were boring, but for the most part it was good. I think that my perspective has started to change recently because I've increased my time that I spend with God. I have been using this devotional book and it really helps me to focus on a topic and to go in depth with it. Before I would sort of flip through my Bible and read chapters, but not always get anything from it. I'm not saying that you have to always be able to apply those verses to life, but it's nice when you can relate and get some direction.
So now that I've been praying and spending more time in the Word, I am starting to feel more of a thirst for God to move and consume more of my life. I just want to share some of the things that I've been doing and these are some of the main stuff that I feel has affected me the most.
[Always pray first!]
I know this one sounds super easy, but it's also easy to slip up on it. Make sure to genuinely ask God to open your heart and mind to see what he has in store for you. You don't even have to talk! Prayer is communication, and that goes both ways: talking and listening. It's so good for you to sit and just soak in God's presence. It's not always easy to hear him or see how he works in our lives because there are SO many distractions. It takes time to learn to listen and soak in his presence. It's not easy and it's something I'm trying to work on also.
[Find your quiet place]
Try to pull away from all the noise and find a place that you can go to that is less distracting. Maybe you can't find a quiet place, so try to find a quiet time. Maybe early mornings or before bed. Make this your special meeting place.
[Look for accountability partners]
Get a really close friend who you trust and pray for each other. Talk to each other about things that have been going on, problems and triumphs. If possible, also get someone who is older than you because they are more experienced and can help give you a little guidance when you're confused, etc.
[Find a devotional]
This really really REALLY helps me. A lot of times, I don't know what to read in the Bible and devotionals really help me to focus on specific aspects of my life. They make devotionals for many age ranges, and it covers a lot of subject matter. This is definitely helpful for me.
[Worship]
If you feel like getting really deep in your devotions and if it's not just a quick few minutes, then set up a music playlist. Make a worship playlist that's made for your time with God. You can sing, you can dance, you can lift your hands, you can bow down; whatever way you worship him. You can also listen to this if you're out and about... I like to listen to worship music when I go on a run outside. Speaking of outside.......
[Outdoor Jesus time]
I love to be outside and take a walk and just talk with God. It's the perfect time to enjoy his creation and stand in awe of him. Praise God for the many many beautiful things that he has made. It is good, it is good!!
[Memory Verses]
It is good to memorize verses from the Bible. I usually memorize the ones that I know will help me and encourage me. Sometimes I memorize ones that are just ways to give glory to God.
I'll post a list of some of my favorite verses soooooon on my other blog. (http://music-songs-verses-starryamazement.blogspot.com/)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So these were just a few ideas to help inspire you, in a way, to want more devotion time. I know that when I spend more time with God, it makes me want more and more of him. When I get off the track of Jesus time, I find it hard to get back into the routine of devotions. Kind of like when you don't excercise, you find it difficult to get back into shape, but once you're in shape it's easier to do more and more. I don't want to limit myself to a routine with God because I want him to move in my life whenever. So you are not limited to anything when it comes to God!! God works some things in our lives that are totally unexpected. I know that it is definitely hard to see what he is trying to do in our lives, but we just have to trust that he knows what's best for us even when we are filled with uncertainty.
Love y'all and praying for y'all,
starry_amazement
Note/ P.S./ Whatever: I originally wrote this May 5, 2011; however, I didn't get to post it until now. It's finally summer!! Hollaa!! :) Today was my last day of school, finally. I'll be trying to post more and more. (my goal!)
Spring Break is over!
Well I planned to post more during spring break last week, but that didn't work out because I had family visiting. I thought about doing it, but obviously... I did not.
Sorry if you wanted to continue the post from last time about Easter...
But good news is:
I'm going to (hopefully) be starting something new for the blog starting in summer. I have my ideas, but I'd like yours also... sooo leave your comments!!
(shh it's a suprise)
Well I'm back in school, and spring break was reaaaaally nice-sleeping in, hanging out with friends, etc- and now I'm in the home stretch for this school year. I hope that I can raise my grades and keep it really high, so my transcript will look lovely for colleges. (ahem, pick me!!)
I still don't know what I want to do for college so I'm praying that everything will turn out great.
During spring break I was able to hang out with some of my neighbors and we went to the movies. We saw the movie "Prom." It was o.k. but it was a little bit cheesy. There were cute moments but it wasn't always great. I guess there wasn't really a main plot so it made it a little boring.
Anyways, as I always say: I WILL TRY TO POST MORE OFTEN........ :P
Maybe that'll work out this time.
Good bye for now,
Tangled is such a cute movie! I love it... :)
Easter is tomorrow!
I am so excited that tomorrow is Easter. I love remembering Jesus' sacrifice for us. We are so blessed y'all!
I am so humbled that he loves us enough that he died.
God's grace and forgiveness is so abundant no matter how many times we mess up.
I'll post more later!
since Christmas
Ahaa I haven't changed my blog since Christmas.
So now it is APRIL!
I will definitely update a little more on spring break which is really late for me this year.
This isn't going to be long because I have this paper due tomorrow which I need to check again. I'm updating this mostly for Hope who seems to check her blog every single day of the year! (haha)
Anyways, I'm actually starting to like writing more and more. (except for most of the stuff on my blog is filled with mistakes but oh well) So next year I'm thinking of doing AP english which is a little scary but it will be ok... My writing (for school) has been getting stronger, not trying to brag...
Well hopefully I updated more on my blog because I need to stop procrastinating and work on my paper.... Ahhh it's 10 o clock.
I'll talk to yall later alligatorss
Christmas Eve Eve!
Today is Christmas Eve EVE! Haha I'm so so so ecstatic for Christmas! I love everything about Christmas. The only thing that is sad this year is no snow. But that's alright.
So here are some of the things that I love about Christmas:
1. It's Jesus' birthday
2. Snow
3. Family
4. Christmas music!
5. Giving (lately I've liked this better than receiving)
6. lights
7. Carols and shows with sisters
8. Christmas Tree
9. Candy canes and hot chocolate
10. Christmas dinner
11. The Advent calendar
12. Sleigh bells
13. Staying up late
14. No school
15. Friends
16. Winter boots
17. Fuzzy socks
18. Mittens
19. Snowmen
20. God's gift to us!
So much more!
Okay so I'm going to try to post my Christmas music on here...
Also, I want to know what you think....
Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?
I definitely think Merry Christmas is my favorite! Think about it, when you say Happy Holidays, it's not like you're actually thinking about some other holiday besides Christmas.... Maybe New Years, but Christmas is basically the main attraction sort of thing. I think that when you say, "Happy Holidays," it can mean any holiday.
We have so many holidays and if you were asked what's a December holiday that comes to your mind? It's most likely going to be Christmas! I just love Christmas, okay? Haha, so what do you think?
Blessings,
Genetics are so complicated! :P
Whew! It's been awhile... Usually that's how it is when I post on here. I'll forget to post and I'll wait a looooong time before posting. Sorry about that.
This is going to be short because I have a Biology exam to study for. I missed one day last week because I was sick, and I missed all the complicated stuff. Blah! So tomorrow I have to go to tutoring to understand the stuff better... (it's on genetics haha) :/
So on Friday I went to the movies with my dad. It was a daddy-daughter date. We had so much fun. We got to see Narnia-The voyage of the dawn treader. So SoSO good!! I loved it! But then again I love Narnia!! :)
I loved how the movie got me thinking about life and how much it relates. I want to say a lot about it but I don't want to spoil the movie...
But anyways I thought it was really good. ahem.. Maybe I'll talk about it! I have three week Christmas break next week whoohooooooooooooooooooooo!
Well, hope you have an awesome day.
Love y'all,
It's been summer for me for a long time
I moved (states)
My new room is blue!!! and one wall is green.......
I'm listening to Britt Nicole right now.. :) (random)
I got out of school May twenty something-ish
Aren't you jealous I haven't been in schooool???? hehe I'm reaaaaalllly really excited to be making a new post....
It is Sept. 6, 2010.
I'm totally ready to see what God is going to do through me here at this location. I'm excited!
SO I have to tell you I finally completed a tv series. Next food network star. I was rooting for Aarti the whole entire way. I totally was excited to see her first show on foodnetwork. Aarti Sequeria is the lovely lady's name. Aarti Party is the show on Food Network, although she started out with a web show/ blog: aartipaarti.com before going to compete on next foodnetwork star.
I was completely encouraged by her because she is a God loving girl. I'm going to watch her shows!
Well I have I question for you...
What are you going to do this school year (work year has been going on but hang in there!) to show God's love to others?
If you're needing some encouragement go check out my other blog, music.songs.verses (http://music-songs-verses-starryamazement.blogspot.com/) for a superhero declaration. It's great! I got it when I was checking out a sunday school at my church.
Ferocious Tiger!
Well today in school was fun. They asked if you could be any animal what would you be? And I was in a great mood and I said I would be a ferocious tiger. So if you were wondering why is the post called that? Well, that is your reason why. I really, really want to be able to work harder on this blog... I think that I am inspired by one of my friends who writes a blog. She is so consistent with it and it's a great blog. She has an amazing blog! Ladies and gentlemen give it up for HOPE!!!
Hope,
If you are reading this then, I just have to say I miss you!! I hope all is well, we got the letter and cards and cute scrapbook.
And the rest of my readers, you all should stop by and look at her blog. She has so many posts... And they are all wonderful to read.
blogatmyfingertips.blogspot.com is the link for it!!! Check it.
DO IT!
Anyways, I just wanted to say that spring break was lots of fun. I was able to start it off with a really fun winter retreat with my youth group. My room was amazing and fun, I loved the leader, leaders, and my roomates, (plus the rest of everybody) The staff who hosted us were so much fun.. If you ever go on a winter retreat someplace go to Horn Creek its in Colorado. I think its by this place called Westcliffe. I think that many people may have heard of it.
So during the retreat we talked about spiritual gifts. We took the spiritual gifts test and the top 4 results for me were
1. Faith
2. Music
3. Knowledge
4. Healing
Now I know that not all these tests are always COMPLETELY accurate but this is really close for me anyhow. I think that spiritual gifts may even be a good topic to write about in the near future... But let me tell you its possible to grow in any spiritual giftings.
So my testimony from the retreat goes something like this-
First night- Felt God tangibly in my life. He hit me hard and I was on my knees in tears. I've been through a long time of questioning him and he showed himself tangible. (just sort of touchable if you know what I mean) I realized that I needed to rely on him for strength and not myself. I felt freedom from bondages of words that I or other people had spoken over me. ( these words were the ones that had hurt the must.) I was able to forgive and I was clean and no guilt in me.
(I also was able to speak of what happened that night without hesitation. Usually I don't have the right words to say, but with God through me I just spoke it to the people I was talking to about what had just happened)
Second (and last) night- During worship, something was really holding me back from giving my all. It took me awhile but I finally went up for prayer. (they were calling people up to be prayed over, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to but I did anyway with just a little bit of reluctance) Students started praying for me and I still felt something so they started praying again. (after awhile) I fell down because the Holy Spirit came and poured into me. After some more prayer (the thing that was holding me back) it was gone. I felt free and was filled with unstoppable laughter. When we started worshipping again, I was able to give my all. I felt like I was running full speed spiritually. I felt like I could breate again after being held under water. It felt free and amazing! God is so awesome!
These are the words that I wrote in the little journal I had on the trip. I actually didn't write during the trip. But as soon as I got home I wrote all that happened.
Also, there were many fun activities on the trip. The youth group was divided into four different teams known by Star Wars names. Such as there was a Yoda team, Obi Wan team, Mace windu team and Qui-gon Jinn. I was on the Qui-gon Jinn team. I honestly don't know like ANY Star Wars which is funny. Anyhow, our team got second place to the Yoda team. We had competitions and they gave us fake money for doing certain things or winning the team games. Like one of the things I did for the tiny, fake, paper, monopoly-like money was helping some leaders. I filled up a water bottle for my room leader for 100 dollars. I also carried jackets up the hill for 500. But some crazy boys ran up the hill in their boxers for 12,000 each. Their team ended up winning. For me I must have collected about 4,000 total but our team got 109,400 for our grand finale. The other team had about 30,000 more than us. The prize was a beanie with our youth group logo on it. It was black, oh well.
Anyways its late here. My parents are sleeping and I'm sleepy myself so I better go.
Love to all.
p.s. I'm working on fixing this blog by the way I need to change some things! or I might get bored... Suggestions for
I'm not changing it completely I'm just editing some pieces of it...
Today is Good Friday.
Can you believe that Jesus would die for your sins? He is perfect and yet he was punished for what we should've been punished. But he loved you and you and you enough to take c punishment. He wanted to spend eternity with you. Imagine that the Creator of the universe in love with you? Crazy huh? Yes, yes it is, crazily amazing.
The Looooooveee Month
Ok, now I REALLY haven't updated!!! I mean I have talked to the people I know have been reading this blog, but those who I don't know who are probably wondering where I disappeared to! haha! Anyways today there was an early release from school because of all the snow falling down from the sky. It was fun, it's just too bad there wasn't a snow day because then I could've slept in. But I went to school for 3 hours and then went home. So much for global warming! :) Actually I had to write a science paper about global warming so that's why its on my mind!
I really need to start working on this blog a lot more than I do. Maybe (at LEAST) once a month I'll try to get to it. I noticed I haven't posted anything since November which was forever ago!
So now it is the month of February. Which I like to think of as the "love" month. I was wondering what y'all thought of Valentines... so what do you think? Do you like it or not? Why? Post your comments!!!
I personally think that Valentines is alright... It's not my favorite holiday. Although I do like giving out Valentines cards. That's my favorite part. But the thing that bugs me about Valentines is that people sometimes throw out the word love, with like no meaning whatsoever. I guess I'm working on it still so I technically can't say anything mean.
Guess what? Time for a lil shout out to all the lovey-dovey February babies!
CHARITY! You rock my socks!
ASCHELEIGH! You are a cool cat!
Aunt Syd n Uncle Victor, you guys are made for each other love month babies!
and anyone else I forgot....
YOU ARE AMAZING! :)
well that's it for today folks!
love ya,
Ta daa!
Hey y'all its fall! So I haven't blogged in a long time, also haven't updated a lot of stuff. Is this what school does to me? I hope not, cause I'm tired and I should probably sleep, but I felt like updating. This blog is starting to look like my journal, I'll start writing a whole lot, but then I stop for a while and then write and so on. So I'm back, and there's a lot I'd like to post but I need my sleep, so you'll have to wait awhile...
But for now...........
Ta daa!
I'm back!
We could call this other... :)
I really did not plan to make this post, but I'm a little bit bored... I probably should sleep considering that we are going to be moving this week! YES!!!!!!!! :) My dad's birthday is tommorow, and a happy birthday to him! We get the keys to our new house on Tuesday! My little sisters birthday is next Sunday, and my grandma's birthday is the Saturday before that. And my other grandma's birthday is next Monday, a week from my dads. Phew what a week! Oh did I mention my school starts Wednesday. But despite all the chaos....
I want to give a shout-out to my dear dear friends in Ohio! You know who you are! I haven't seen you in forever, but much love anyways. :)
And this post is over. :)
10th Post!!!! ;)
Just reached the tenth post! Shout out!! :) Well as we all know, summer has basically ended... Mine ends this coming Wednesday though. :( It was fun while it lasted.... Now I look forward to fall. I actually think that fall is my favorite season because the weather is not too cold nor too hot. It seems just perfect. And it's just BEAUTIFUL! But I also think that I love a lot of things about each season! God makes seasons so wondefully. I just want to say that I'm so thankful for Jesus! I know that sometimes I can feel upset or stressed about stuff in life. But when I turn to him, I look to the Bible, and it just hits me! He is my comfort. I can pile all my thoughts onto him. I know that sometimes I may forget about doing it especially when I'm in the stress, but when I do it, it feels SO much better! My point is that no matter what you're going through, God is there. It might feel like he's not. But believe me, he is! He's always there. I know that a lot of times people always say that, but once you go through the problem asking God for his strength, you will see that he sticks through it with you. You'll see it even more after you get through the storm. So stick with him, he'll stick with you!
On fire
Ok, well I didn't exactly plan to post this. I was going to post a thing about fun summer activities.(which I might post later)  But I really, really have to tell you about this. I think it's amazing. Here it goes-
So today is Father's Day, yay! Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. It was also church today. And during the Sunday school hour, we were watching a video about some Christians in Vietnam. You know, you always hear about persecution, and such. But these Vietnamese, they have a huge heart for God. They worship him with all they are. They give up everything to follow him. They suffer beatings, and worse for not denying Christ. They don't fight back. They have this on fire passion for God. I think it's amazing that they are going to give everything up, be beaten, and persecuted for God. They lose their families. And it seems to me that sometimes we're afraid to speak up, and not give in to peer pressure because we do not want to be made fun of, or get kicked out of a group or such. But these Christians, they give up everything, I think that we all can learn from them, they suffer from a lot. We should be able to stand up for Jesus as free Americans. We need to be ready. We need to step out of our comfort zone. The time is going to come when persecution is big. I have no idea how big. But we have to be able to suffer from little things before we can face the bigger persecutions. It's going to happen some day. I have no idea when, but it will. Are you ready? Are you willing to stand up for God with everything you are? Would you deny him if someone put a gun to your head, and would kill you for being a Christian? You can ask and ask all these questions, but really think about it. Pray for these people who suffer from violence because of their faith. They are your brothers and sisters! God loves you so much. Goodness, it's overwhelming.
=) smiles,
Last Day of School
Yesterday was the last day of school. It was alot of fun, but it had sad moments. It was amazing!
Everyone had their ipods out, and this one guy brought a speaker. People all put their ipods in and there was a "dance-off." Not alot of people really danced, but oh well. And everyone was just talking and having conversations and such. That was the good part.
It was really sad when I would look at the clouds and be reminded of Jesus. The clouds also reminded me of my friend who moved to another state on the 20th. The 22nd was the last day of school. Then my other friend and I were listening to my brother's ipod. And the song "From the Inside Out" came on. We both started crying. Jesus love is just wonderful to soak in. Thanks to my brother who made us feel better by putting on a funny song.. (by the way, he's not really my brother, but he's like a brother to me)
The tears came out after more laughter when it was time to leave. Everyone gave everyone the last hugs and good-bye's. I think that I will still miss those people, cause some may not come back next year. I'm going to miss them so so so so so so so very very very super super much! haha. Now I must be off. If anyone of them read this- (I miss you alot if that's not obvious. You are superb and great friends.)
much love,
